I delight in the small details of good design.

I like creating the nuance that makes a design unexpectedly enchanting.

My design path has been winding, and I’ve learned so much along the journey. Early in 2020, I began my transition to UX/UI design from theatrical set and prop design. For me, that transition made obvious sense. Both UX and theatrical design require deep compassion for and understanding of other people, and a penchant for wonder, curiosity, and beauty.

I’m currently contracting as the go-to UX/UI & branding designer for XYZ Technologies, a tech consulting company. The variety of projects I’ve worked on with XYZ has allowed me to stretch my skills in new and different ways. I had a lot of fun taking Koi (formerly GoldFish) from a rough developer-designed product to a simple and fun UI with a streamlined UX to secure a spot with the accelerator Outlier Ventures and $50,000 in initial seed funding for Koi.

The other project I devoted much time to was co-founding StoreCat, a revolutionized product management system. While StoreCat is indefinitely on hold, I learned an incredible amount working on the idea and strategizing/developing the marketing materials for the project. I also got a good first look at how simple usability improvements can really change adoption and users’ outlook.

I have a long and varied design history. Many of the skills I learned in other fields have a direct impact on my work as a UX designer.
